Depicting Her Essence is a series of paintings and sculptures that reframe the language of value placed on women. Using henna, a medium of making, offering, and embodied adornment rather than surface treatment, the works draw parallels between domestic labor, ritual creation, and cultural expectations.

Referencing matrimonial codes, dowry, utility, appearance, the series questions how worth is assigned, while asserting that a woman’s essence lies beyond measurable attributes. Like henna itself, these works are intimate, lived, and transient, carrying a quiet insistence that identity is not constructed for consumption, but revealed from within.

The series was recognized by Studio Montclair with an award for Suitable Girl, alongside local media acknowledgment.
