Body Wants
The body does not lie. And placid toddlers can never stand still to the beat of a lively allegro or any pop music with a beat. 7 percent of meaning is communicated through spoken words, 38 percent through tone of voice, and 55 percent through body language. Familiar and Fuzzy Special Characters, meet Real Body. Ironic, Real Body covers the area between the opening price and the closing price of a stock for a period of time. It is the wide part of the candle on a candlestick chart.
“Body Wants” is a collection of random images that come together with WESC characters (wide-eyed Special Characters) Furthermore, These characters that are embodied special characters, present a randomized reality when introduced to an image of the real world. Together they make a simulated reality like none other! The meaning derived supersedes the significance of one or the other.
Just as special characters are contextualized through their placement and formulated into an axiom, people are interpreted and formulated in much the same way. The interpretation of the reality of these images will depend of individual observers. The only cue will be the familiar special characters continuing to indicate a designated meaning even in a faceless context.
The process of communicating nonverbally is through conscious or unconscious gestures and movements. The supreme question about a work of art is out of how deep a life does it spring. Where does the body feature in the cognitive process? The body after all is the only tool we have to operate in the physical world?!
In a world where humans are slaves to their screens, with AI further enabling such a future, the headset and bodysuit itself will be physical gratification in a virtual reality. This in turn will eliminate the need for human contact and the body will assume a very different significance.
Today we read body language for cues to understand one another. My wide eyed special characters are just that. The expressions of special characters, tantamount to designated expressions of their corresponding mathematical symbols.
When juxtaposed with regular selfies, these WESC characters offer an expression of yet another reality open to yet another set of interpretations. Ultimately the body language conveys the ever morphing love. For “Love loves to love love.” as James Joyce put it!
