Omar Mateen has enjoyed limelight to an extent that his normal life would not have offered him…the more he is talked about the less meaning evolves out of all the discussions. The words of all the experts evaporate in a mist of hot air. The senseless bloodshed – committed by a senseless act, motivated by a half-baked ideology and undefined emotion. As for the rest of us, the faceless masses, we wander through meaning, politics, representation, history, ideology, with a somnambulant strength of denial.
